NH History picture taken by Joni Cooper, New London NH 2006 "Lord, teach us to pray!" (Luke 11:1) The only time the disciples asked Jesus to teach them to do something was to pray.

That's significant isn't it?  They saw something in Jesus' life they knew they could have and understood the way to get there was prayer. What follows has come to be known as the Lord's Prayer.  Jesus never meant it to be idly repeated (Matt 6:7) but rather a model prayer to be used like a running track where our prayer legs and muscles can be developed.

"Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.  Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread.  And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors.  And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one.  For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever.  Amen."

Seven sentences summarizing the expanse of prayer; seven different areas of focus for our minds and hearts; seven windows to open allowing the Holy Spirit to reveal specifics pertaining to things that touch our lives and the lives of those we love.  Here is the beginning of our journey into the vast expanse of His grace, His love and His Kingdom!  "Lord, teach US to pray!
